On Wings of Devotion.

Phillip Camden is a dead man walking, labeled “Black Heart” by the press and most of England after the tragic deaths of his entire squadron. He’s come to terms with his fate until life places him in the path of Arabelle Denler. The kind nurse is full of faith and determined to help Phillip heal, especially since he has named himself her protector.

But as Phillip’s past begins to mingle with his codebreaking work, he and Ara find themselves in the middle of a scheme they can’t possibly escape on their own. Can they trust God with their future even when it seems so uncertain?

my thoughts:

Oh. My. Word.

I think Roseanna M. White has a new fan. (It’s me. I’m the new fan.) Y’all, I cried. I swooned. I sat on the edge of my seat. If there was an emotion to be had, I think I felt it while reading this book.

It has everything: a rough hero with a lovable soft side, a spunky-but-kind heroine with struggles of her own, espionage and intrigue, villains and witty humor, and a deep spiritual truth that made me whisper, “Thank You, Jesus” as I read it. I am legitimately blown away.

It’s the second in a series (The Codebreakers). I haven’t read the first, but I have full intentions of doing so soon! All the tears. All the heart eyes. All the stars. This is how it’s done, folks. On Wings of Devotion released January 7th.

I’m deeply grateful to Bethany House and NetGalley for allowing me to read a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are mine.

book boyfriend:

Without a doubt, Phillip Camden takes the BB trophy home with this one. He spends a vast majority of the book dealing with survivor guilt and feeling like his time is inevitably ticking down. Because of this, he’s rough-around-the-edges on the surface, but such a softie on the inside. You can’t help but love him. And love him, I do. *cue the heart eyes*
