Lakeshire Park.

There’s only one thing Amelia Moore is after: the financial security and emotional happiness of her younger sister, Clara. An invitation to Lakeshire Park seems to be the perfect route to such an endeavor as Amelia hopes for a match between her sister and Sir Ronald.

But Mr. Peter Wood and his younger sister seem intent on ruining Amelia’s plan. It appears that Mr. Wood has the same idea as Amelia–an attachment between his younger sister and Sir Ronald. How will they ever get along?

My Thoughts:

I loved Julianne Donaldson’s books, so when I saw her endorsement on this book I was too excited to read it. And I can tell you that endorsement was well earned.

I couldn’t put this book down! I loved every second of it. From Peter and Amelia’s shenanigans as rivals to their sweet moments of friendship growing into more, I was invested from the first page. And as the oldest of three sisters, I could completely relate to Amelia’s love and care for her younger sister. Everything was about Clara–about her happiness and her security. As a sister, that felt very real to me.

This is just a lovely, clean romance full of heart that honestly feels like a breath of fresh air. Fans of clean regency reads will adore this one. (Full disclosure: I read this book and then watched Pride & Prejudice because it just felt right.) I’ll be looking for more from author Megan Walker! Lakeshire Park releases April 7th.

A huge thank you to Shadow Mountain and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this novel. All opinions belong completely to me.

Book Boyfriend:

Peter Wood. Sign. Me. Up. I either smiled or melted in every single scene where he walked across the page. He’s a gem and I can’t wait for you to meet him.
