The Gentleman and the Thief.

Hollis Darby has a secret, but it appears he isn’t the only one. Ana Newport, the woman who has caught his eye, is also hiding something. When their help is needed to solve a ring of crimes, can they trust each other with the truth? And can love be enough for a gentleman and a thief?

My Thoughts:

This was my first Sarah Eden book and I found it utterly charming. I loved the heart behind the Dread Penny Society and how they simply want to help. I also thought it was fun to get little snippets of the penny dreadful novels throughout the book. At first, it threw me and I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy it, but I ended up loving the little stories as much as the main one.

The Gentleman and the Thief has an interesting plot with high stakes, so staying invested in the book isn’t a problem. However, I am a romance girl through and through, so I personally wanted more development for Hollis and Ana. I loved them individually. I just would have loved more of them developing together.

Overall, this was a very entertaining read! It’s available now, so get your copy.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher. All expressed opinions belong to me.

Book Boyfriend:

Hollis. He takes care of his people and he wants to be helpful. His heart is just really good and he’s pretty clever. But the most lovable thing about Hollis is his loyalty.
