The Heart’s Charge.

On a mission to deliver a baby to a nearby foundling home, Mark Wallace and Jonah Brooks encounter two women who capture their attention. When a handful of urchin children from the area go missing, a pair of Horsemen are exactly what the women need. As they work together to find the children, will these two couples find love as well?

My Thoughts:

The only thing better than a Karen Witemeyer romance is TWO Karen Witemeyer romances!

From the moment I met them in the first book of the series, I loved the Horsemen. I especially loved their bond, and this book proves that bond remains strong even as life (and love) move the Horsemen along.

So many aspects of this book were handled masterfully, from the characters (the children are so fun!) to the mystery (I spent most of the book wondering what in the world was going on, but in a good way!) to the romance (ALL OF THE HEART EYES). In typical Witemeyer fashion, The Heart’s Charge is thrilling from beginning to end.

While Mark and Katherine are lovely and angsty in their own reconnected-flame kind of way, it’s Jonah and Eliza’s subtle growth from spark to bonfire that captured my heart. I would throw punches for those two. Their dynamic is so fun! I anticipated each scene they shared because of their fiery, challenging interactions. Even their softer moments held a steady current of tension.

I loved this book even more than the first one! This series just keeps getting better and I can’t wait for the next book. The Heart’s Charge is available now, so do yourself a favor and go read it!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher. All expressed opinions belong to me.

Book Boyfriend:

Okay, here’s the thing: both Horsemen are absolutely wonderful. So swoony. But my man Jonah stole the show for me. He isn’t flowery or much with words, but he makes his words count. And good heavens, he’s steady and certain. Gentle when necessary, but always strong. I just love him so much!
