Before I Called You Mine.

Lauren Bailey has one goal in mind: follow the calling of her heart to adopt internationally. But in order to satisfy her adoption agency’s requirements, she must stay single for the foreseeable future. Considering that her sister’s last attempt at matchmaking placed a stranger with very strong feelings about alpacas at the family dinner table for Thanksgiving, Lauren thinks she can handle it.

But then she meets Joshua Avery and nothing is simple anymore. Can she keep her promise and follow God into adoption even if it means giving up the man she’s come to love?

My Thoughts:

I hoped that the story would be just as beautiful as the cover and I wasn’t disappointed. Y’all, this book was just so good. Told in first person, Before I Called You Mine gives readers insight into Lauren’s mind and heart from the first page. It’s complicated, messy, beautiful, and so achingly real that she becomes like a dear friend–a dear friend faced with an impossible decision.

The story is beautiful with imperfect characters, but I was truly impressed by the way it ministered to me. I love when Christian fiction entertains and encourages. More than a romance or an adoption story, this book is an honest love letter to anyone who feels God urging them to trust Him regardless of what it looks like.

This is a great story and I’m so grateful that Nicole shares it with us. Do not miss this one, friends. It releases on March 31st.

I’m so grateful to Bethany House and NetGalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All expressed opinions belong to me.

Book Boyfriend:

Joshua Avery. A thousand percent. Oh my goodness, if he were any more patient and kind, I don’t know how I could handle it. You’ll see. Just read the book and join the Josh Fan Club with me. (We meet on Tuesdays and wear graphic tees with dino puns. All are welcome.)
